VINEYARDS AND VARIETIES
Our winery’s vineyards are located in Vilaflor – Spain’s highest district – at over 1300 metres above sea-level. The right ground management, using only organic, biological materials, combined with our exhaustive control over cultivation and careful selection of raw ingredients result in exclusive wines with huge character and personality.
The varieties we use for making our wines are perfectly-suited to the climate, altitude, and needs of organic cultivation. The most-commonly used varieties are white Listán and Albillo for dry white and fruity white wines, and black Listán, Tempranillo, Castellana, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah etc. for the red wines.
The main activity here is our own wine production. The property has three estates, bought by Mr Eugenio Reverón Sierra in 1947, with a total area of 17.1 hectares. 12 hectares are dedicated to organic crops, an area which is increasing by several hectares per year. The ‘Construction’ which in previous times was the old winery has been renovated, without losing the aesthetics of the building and historical site. The tradition of ancient wine production and modernity of our new facilities come together under one roof with the latest technological advances. Recreational areas are located around the estate for visitors to enjoy.
Our wines are produced using the finest-quality varieties, cultivated in the “Los Quemados” and “Los Llanos de Trevejos” estates in Vitaflor, at altitudes higher than 1300 metres above sea-level. We employ techniques that are in harmony with the environment, without the use of synthetic chemical products, when cultivating our grapes and producing our wines. This type of farming which combines respect for the environment, patience, and care in production, has given us unbeatable wines – with unique characteristics you’d
be hard-pressed to find in any other part of the world.
