/ DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY /
Our winery is made up of 17 wine-producing families, with vineyards located in different places across the island. Every year at grape harvesting time they deliver their harvests reflecting the character and personality of Las Tirajanas wines. The winery produces 11 different wines, all of which reflect the microclimates of the different places the vineyards are located. The vineyards in the south are affected by wind – sometimes extreme – and have dry, hard, basalt soil formed during the latest volcanic activity. The vineyards in the Medianías (mid-altitude areas) are ancient, growing traditional red grapes. These ancient vineyards are at altitudes above 1,000m on steep slopes with flat, loose soil. They have the benefit of the trade winds and mist favoured by the crops when ripening.
