/DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY/
“Discover the history of an essential element for the Canary Islanders: the “gofio”.
The MIGO, located in the old mill of Las Tricias, offers the opportunity to visit the structure and original machinery of the mill, which was operational until 1954. In the tour of the museum, we will learn first-hand what the “gofio” is, the process of its production right from the sowing of the cereal to the table, the importance of this precious and nutritious food item throughout the history of the people of Canary Islands, as well as its multiple uses in local gastronomy, along with informative panels, ethnographic elements, graphic, audiovisual and sensory resources, including a live demonstration of the grain grinding process.
The centre features exhibition and sale of this nutritious and precious food item, in addition to local artisanal products.
