/DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD /
The Bodega Los Bermejos, founded in 2001, gets its name from the vermilion-coloured earth (vermilion is “bermellón” in Spanish), which is found under the volcanic ash in the land where the property is located.
Although it is recently established, the winery is located in some 18th-century facilities. On the walls of the old winery, formerly known as “Bodega Los Bello” (Los Bello Winery), we can see an inscription of 1920, the year in which it was reformed in order to become the current facilities of Bodega Los Bermejos.
It is located in Juan Bello, in the municipality of San Bartolomé, next to a country estate from that period, in a typical grape cultivation area on the Lanzarote island, surrounded by other country estates that maintain the winepresses and wineries of old times, and that were responsible for making all the grapes for the various farms of this place.
At present, Bodega Los Bermejos has managed to combine tradition with modernity and, inside it, we can find a winepress of the old times as well as the most modern machinery.
Bodega Los Bermejos was created with very clear manufacturing and marketing policies. To manufacture premium quality wines obtained from the best raw material and to market them only and exclusively in the HoReCa Market, being very well received from the restaurateurs, hotels and specialised stores in the area.
The production of the high-quality grapes has been a result of the great work done by our farmers in association with the winery, systematically monitoring all the processes and products used in the cultivation of the vineyard.
For us, the fundamental point of this system is the harvest, where we carry out about 500 analyses of the grape, in order to collect it at its most optimum moment. With this, we are able to make wines that are totally natural and without modifications or corrections.
